There are so many things to do in Cornwall in December and January: Meet Father Christmas, Festival of Lights, Special Santa Steam Trains, Plymouth Christmas Market. Instead, relax enjoy a fine meal out at the characterful local Rod & Line pub or Taste of the West Gold 2017 awarded Heskyn Mill restaurant, both within 10 minutes drive.

Moor2Sea Cornwall Cottages are  tucked just on the Cornish side of the Tamar Bridge, so very convenient to use as a base to pop into the vibrant city of Plymouth (35mins) and enjoy some festive fun! At the Royal William Yard they are kick-starting the festivities early with the Illuminate Light Festival this weekend (24th-26th November). In December enjoy Christmas food and ‘maker’ Markets followed by a sing-along concert on the 17th December.

The flower Garland at Cotehele in the Great Hall is an annual event visitors have been enjoying since the 1950s – Throughout December the magnificent floral decoration (boasting 32,000 flowers!) will be on display. Moor 2 Sea holiday cottages are perfectly situated just inside Cornwall, to many National Trust houses and gardens: Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Anthony House, Mount Edgcumbe and Saltram are just a few you should visit. Get your skates on!

The skating season is now upon us and for the next few months at the fantastic ice rink at Eden – only 40mins drive from Moor2Sea. The cater for all ages with themed events such as Roald Dahl’s Halloween – great range of eateries, plus the Biomes themselves are an impressive must see! Finally, if you you fancy an adrenaline fix you can ‘whizz-pop’ over the whole site on a 660m zip-wire.

We are so fortunate to live in this area of Outstanding beauty and there are so many activities to join in with all year round. Tamar Trails is a hub for all kinds of outdoor fun; Tree surfing is popular with all ages, canoeing, archery, biking or simply walking through the scenic valley. You can then reward yourself with something delicious at the ‘Beech café’. Only 30mins drive towards Tavistock, or an exciting 1.5 hour bike ride, if you want a head start on the adventures from the Moor 2 Sea cottages. (we have a safe place onsite to store your bike).

Looe Music Festival this September

Looe Music Festival 2017 has a great line up this year:  The Happy Mondays, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Undertones and Lulu to name a few.  Moor2Sea cottages are only 25 minutes away, so come and stay in luxury and relax after dancing on the beach, a mass sing-along in Cornish or just enjoying the fun atmosphere and free activities. (dates: 29th September -1st October)
