Spring Sunsets at Seaton

Hello Hello Hello

It’s been a long chilly winter but Moor2Sea Cornwall’s opening those patio doors, sweeping away the leaves and taking our breakfast al fresco.

As a busy family it’s rare to have time in the mornings to take in the beautiful scenery that surrounds us. However, with Seaton beach a short drive away there’s no better way to unwind after a hectic day at work/school, than a stroll along the seafront. Not only for the fresh sea air and breathtaking sunset views, but also to let our crazy cocker spaniel run his little legs off.

With a wealth of other beaches in close proximity, there’s no excuse not to take in that fresh Cornish air. Whether it’s for a quick 20 minute stroll or a longer ramble along the coastal path’s.

This year there’s no doubt Cornwall’s leading the way when it comes to food festivals and fine dinning in the UK. The combination of breath-taking scenery and fresh local produce from surrounding farms and fishing ports make’s it a haven for those wanting a new experience without having to travel abroad. This has also led to an influx of celebrity chefs opening restaurants nearby, not that i like to name drop but…Rick Stein’s ‘The Seafood Restaurant‘ in Padstow, Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen‘ in Watergate Bay and Nathan Outlaw’s ‘Fish Kitchen‘ in Port Isaac.

In the name of market research i obviously had to try them all out for myself with family and friends, and i can honestly say that these restaurants have created some mouthwatering dishes, set in beautiful locations, and left me with some wonderful memories of sunny summer evenings in Cornwall.

Just fancy a nibble?

Then how about a trip to Truro where you sample some of the finest food Cornwall has to offer, at the Great Cornish Food Festival on the 23rd – 25th September.

Or maybe a little indulgence?

Falmouth Oyster Festival 8th-11th October may be more your style.

With a younger family in mind, alfresco dinning is always a holiday must, and one of life’s simple pleasures.  So why not pack a Perfect Pasty Picnic, gather the family and head off to one of Cornwalls open air theatres like Sterts or the delightful Garden Theatre of Pentillie Castle and rediscover the pleasure of a picnic.

For more ideas and suggestions of local restaurants and Cornish Produce outlets take a look at our dinning out page.
